Having children – more so first time mothers - is one of life’s exciting adventures and to enhance this experience Botswana Medical Aid Society offers their expectant members BOMBaby. BOMBaby is designed to help educate moms and dads-to-be, offer support endive sound advice.

What is BomBaby?

It is a complete maternity assistance program that gives medical/physiological information during this exciting and anxious time. BOMBaby intends to teach the expecting family with information on the various experiences brought about by this new life they are waiting for.

What it Offers?

The BOMBaby program offers a wide range of services to the mother and father to-be, from the 14th week of pregnancy.

• open discussions with experienced midwife on various stages of the baby’s development and changes in Mummy’s body

• Tailor made information on your other medical condition in relation to pregnancy as well as health risk identification through profiling each trimester.

• Educational materials

• Early identification of high risk pregnancy to enable the family (mom/dad and expected baby) to access other service where relevant assistance can be provided.

• You also get a phone call and e-mails on the stages of pregnancy

• A baby hamper to give a mom to be a start with a book covering the health of mother and baby, the contact list of health service providers locally and in South Africa,

Who can Benefit from BomBaby Program?

Any member of BOMaid going through this exciting time can access this program at no extra cost.  It is worth mentioning that the dad is also taken under arm to help prepare him be a better and supportive partner during this time. We recognize that times have changed and fathers have a role to play in their kid’s life – as early as even during pregnancy! With this line of focus pregnancy becomes an exciting and engaging time for both parents.
